[Hilarium ICO Talk] ICO Help: Steps to Participate in EOS ICO

Hello everyone, this is Chris Kim from the HILARIUM FOUNDATION.

In this post, I will discuss how to participate in EOS ICO—which is known to be
one of the most complicated ICO.
Learning how to participate in this ICO will let you to gain a lot more advanced
technical aspects of the ICO world.

EOS is considered to be one of the most important upcoming blockchain projects
at present, representing a third generation blockchain.

While its development is still ongoing, I am expecting its launch around early June
this year.
When the time comes, there will be some life-changing events that ICO will bring
to the world. Hilarium Coin will also make its brilliant debut around this time.

With such great hope for future, I will begin today’s post.

Here’s how to participate in EOS.

This method uses MetaMask, which I went over in my previous blog post.

1.       Go to https://eos.io
You will see the page as the image below.

2. Scroll down to click ‘Get EOS’.

3.Activate and click ‘Continue’ button after checking every check mark.

4. Then, click ‘EOS Token Distribution.
**Make sure to log in to Metamask before you proceed!

5. Next, the following screen will appear. Please wait until it proceeds to the
main EOS purchase page.

6. Now it’s time to make a purchase. Click ‘Get EOS TOKENS’ on top right
of the page.

7. Go over the distribution period and closing time.
Then, indicate the number of ETH you would like to buy from total ETH.
When you are done, click ‘Send ETH’.

8. Next, Metamask screen will automatically appear as the image below.
Gas Limit indicates the sending commission fee. The higher GWEI, the faster
sending speed and the fee will be. When you are done with all the setting,
send by clicking the ‘submit’ button.

Note: When participating in ICO, if you want to make a purchase faster,
you will have to increase your commission fee. If you think you have more time,
you can receive it later with a lower commission.

9. The screen will then show the items that you have participated in.
When you click it, you will be able to see the progress status on Etherscan.

10. The Etherscan page will appear as the image below.
Please attend to the ‘(Pending)’ sign on the screen until it changes to ‘Success’.
Go over ‘From’ and ‘To’ as well.

11. Next, you will see the distribution period screen.
See on the image below that there is 0.1 ETH sent for my ETH category.

12. Click ‘Register your EOS Key’.
Note: For beginners who haven’t registered your EOS, you will see the ‘Register
EOS Key’ button on top right of the page.
For those who have registered, you will see ‘Change Your EOS Key’, as shown
in the image below.

13. On the ‘Register EOS KEY’ page, you will see your private and public key.
Make a copy of both keys (public key optional) and make sure to not lose them.
Proceed by clicking ‘I have safely backed up my private key’.

14. When all the steps are finished, the page will return to the MetaMask screen.
Click ‘submit’.

15. Now, you will deliver your Received token to your MetaMask.
Click “Claim EOS tokens”.

Go over the details on the page, and click ‘Claim EOS’.

16. The following screen as shown below will show up. Click ‘Submit’.
You will be able to view the sending in progress.

17. Finally, when the status changes to ‘Success’, you will be able to
confirm that the EOS has been sent. For this final step, it takes some time
for the status to change. For me, it took about a quarter of a day.

What I have realized from participating in EOS ICO is that it is a bit cheaper to
make transactions this way than to do it in a normal exchange .

I was learning as I go, preparing myself for ICO participation as well.
By sharing and including pictures of my own experience, I tried to make the
information as easy as possible for beginners to understand.

I hope this has been informative, and I would love to hear your
feedback and thoughts.

Have a great afternoon,
See you next blog!
