[Hilarium ICO Talk] ICO Help (3): How to Create your EOS Wallet (MetaMask)

Hello everyone, this is Chris Kim from the HILARIUM FOUNDATION.

In my previous postings, I explained how to make your Ethereum and Bitcoin Wallet.
Today will be the last posting of ‘How to Create Your Wallet for ICO Coins’ series.

The topic for today is: How to Create Your Wallet for EOS

Those who have already participated in EOS ICO may have realized that the process
can be quite difficult.
While it is evident that EOS has a lot of technical improvements to offer, most
people find it challenging to get the hand of it.

This is where MetaMask comes in, as it would relieve some problems that many
people will face.

MetaMask is the first thing you need to know when dealing with EOS.
To explain briefly, MetaMask is a browser extension program that allows users to
make cryptocurrency transactions through regular websites.
It is a wallet in the form of a Chrome extension, serving as a bridge between the
user interfaces such as Dapps and the regular web.

I will give further details about them in my later blog posts. Today, I just want to
help you get started on setting up your EOS Wallet using MetaMask.

So, here’s how to set your EOS Wallet.

1. Go to https://metamask.io

When you enter the page, you will see the screen as the image above.

2. Click ‘Get Chrome Extension’ and install Google Chrome.

3. Click the top right button ‘Add to Chrome’ to install the MetaMask application.

4. When the installation is finished, you will see the fox icon on top of
your Chrome browser.

5. Click the fox icon, then press ‘accept’ two times.
For the second ‘accept’ button, you need to scroll down in order to activate it.
You can always enter the MetaMask program by clicking the icon from now on.

6. Now, let’s create your wallet. Create a new password using letters, numbers
and special characters.
7. Next, you will see 12 seed words.
Those words will be used for your account restoration. Please make a copy
of them somewhere else. After saving the file, click ‘I’ve Copied it Somewhere
Safe’ button.

8. Then, you can proceed to the last step— ‘Copy Address to Clipboard’

That’s the end of steps for making your wallet for EOS!

Subsequently, more difficult steps will follow in order to participate in EOS ICO.
But, you will be able to get through them if you go step-by-step.
After participating in the EOS ICO using Ethereum myself, I will be back with
feedback and more information regarding EOS ICO. Please check my blog updates.

Thanks for reading.
See you next blog!
