[Hilarium ICO Talk] ICO Help: How to Create your Ethereum Wallet.

Hello everyone, this is Chris from the HILARIUM FOUNDATION.

Many people recognize that one of the best ways to invest in cryptocurrency is by
participating in ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings).
In order to participate in ICO, however, there are some essential steps that we
 have to follow.

For example, in order to participate in Hilarium ICO, you need:
1.      Standard cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin and Ethereum
2.      A method to exchange Hilarium Coin with one of the standard coins.
(ex. 1 Hilarium Coin= 1USD & 1 Ethereum Coin= 800USD. 1 Ethereum coin can
be exchanged with 800 Hilarium coins)

As the example above shows, in order to participate in the newly launched ICOs, you have to own one of the standard coins so that you can exchange them with the new coins.

For this post, I will show you how to make the Ethereum Wallet. It is a fundamental
step that will get you started with the ICO participation process. You need Ethereum
Wallet for any ICO participation and P2P transaction.

This is an up-to-date version of making Ethereum Wallet.

Here’s how to set it up.

1. Go to myetherwallet.com and create a password.
You should make it as strong as possible, combining numbers,
letters and symbols.

I suggest you to have a copy for yourself so that you don’t lose it.

2. Download and store the keystore file, then click ‘I understand.
Continue’ button.

3. Save your private key.
You must not lose this data and keep it safe. You should remember that you
cannot retrieve your lost private key and password. You can also print it to keep
a physical copy for yourself.
If you are ready to proceed, click the ‘Save your address’ button.

4. Use your private key or keystore file to unlock your wallet.
While there are numerous ways, I will explain two options to open your wallet.
First option is to use your keystore file.
There are some more restrictions such as being difficult to access with other PC
and having to upload a file, but its safety is more guaranteed.

Select Keystore File and upload your keystore file.

Then, type your password.

Second option is to copy and paste your private key. This may be an easier
method than the first one, but you have to be aware of increased chance for
being hacked.

After finishing all the steps, you will be able to receive your own wallet address.
You now have your fully functional Ethereum wallet.

All is left now is for you to load your wallet up with some Ether.
As you see, making Ethereum Wallet is not as complicated as it seems.
Just remember to be very cautious of keeping your private key and the safety
of your Ethereum wallet.
I will come back with another topic next time.
See you next blog!
